Live Streaming Video for a DIY Project vs. Video Creation

Everyone makes DIY videos these days. Most of these videos are really fun and have a lot of great information. I am toying with the idea of making some videos for my readers, but love the idea of live streaming the process and answering questions along the way. Is this possible?

First off, here is a great video I found that shows the process of making a home bar in time-lapse form:

I LOVE this video. It is quick and shows the step by step process it takes to make the bar. There is one aspect missing though: an outlet for questions!

With any video there is an opportunity to comment on the page or on the video directly. However, what about answering questions in real time? That is where live streaming comes in. I would love to document my next DIY project on YoutTube’s live streaming platform and answer questions in real time. However, there are a few drawbacks —

Projects take a lot of time and people may lose interest. If I make a mistake, it could be costly for anyone following along. Could hackers sabotage my project? Maybe, but I doubt that will happen. There is a lot of risk involved but I think it could be a lot of fun and I am looking into it.

I would love to hear and read your thoughts. Live streaming a DIY project: Is it worth it?
